Position: JUNIOR TELECOMS TECHNICIAN

The Role
Airfibre currently seeks a Telecoms Technician who will be trained in all aspects of surveying, installation of hardware & network infrastructure and completion of upgrades at customer sites across Leinster and the greater Cork City area.
As the successful candidate you will be a reliable team player with an ability to multitask and work on your own initiative and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong Interpersonal skills and customer high service service attitude.
  • Good written and oral communication skills (fluent in English).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, Visio, MS Word) would be beneficial.
  • Able and keen to travel throughout the island of Ireland and stay overnight occasionally.
  • Full, clean driver’s license (company vehicle will be supplied).
  • Eligible to work in Ireland/EU.

 
Principal Responsibilities

  • Following comprehensive training you will be:
  • Installing and testing long-range wireless telecommunications equipment on customer premises and on telecoms mast infrastructure;
  • Installing and testing network equipment (switches and routers);
  • Installing and testing of Wi-Fi devices;
  • Installing and testing of Cat5e, Cat6, and fibre-optic cable;
  • Installing and testing fibre patch leads;
  • Undertaking health and safety assessments of customer installations and producing Risk Assessments to mitigate risk to complete the installation in compliance with best health & safety practice;
  • Producing completion documentation for customers; and
  • Undertaking non-routine duties that will be allocated from time-to-time.

 

Please Note
This role is not a ‘work from home’ or ‘work remotely’ position.
The successful candidate will participate in occasional over-night maintenance and weekend work.

Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity for the an enthusiastic candidate to become a professional networking engineer.
Comprehensive training will be provided for all aspects of the role including working at heights, operation of machinery, working in construction sites, etc.
A good level of physical fitness is required for the role.
